Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. A day to honor the lives lost to overdose and reduce the stigma associated with substance use disorder. It is important to remember and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones without shame and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
Additionally, this weekend we will celebrate Labor Day, a well-deserved tribute to focus on our well-being and a respite from the work week.
Labor Day is also a moment to celebrate the contributions of the labor movement in our country. Especially now, it is an opportunity for us to salute the frontline workers and the millions of American workers who keep our country going.
All of us at the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey wish you an enjoyable holiday spent with loved ones, families and friends.
Be well.
