Happy Holidays!

The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) is challenging all New Jersey high school students to enter the Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs New Jersey music and song writing competition.

PDFNJ has rebranded New Jersey Shout Down Drugs, which began in 2005, as Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs New Jersey. The new name fully encompasses what the competition is about – challenging teens to deliver peer-to-peer original music, songs and lyrics in their original style, whether it be rap, hip-hop or any other genre.

We know that music is a powerful tool that can be used to influence and inspire people. These peer-to-peer messages about substance use prevention could have an impact on other teens. It is a great opportunity for young people to really be leaders and send an important message to their peers.

For high school students, this time at home over winter break can be a great time to get started on their song. The winners will have an opportunity to gain exposure, and the top three winners will share up to $10,000 in prizes. Entries are being accepted now through February 1st.  For more information and rules on how to enter, please click here.

During these difficult times the Your Song! Your Voice! competition will hopefully serve as a positive focus for today’s teens. From all of us at the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey, we want to wish you a happy and safe holiday season.

Happiest Holidays!
