nj.com: New Milford fourth-grader earns first place in folder contest

NEW MILFORD -- Briella Biggins, a student at B.F. Gibbs Elementary School, is a first-place winner in the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey's Design a Fourth-Grade Folder Contest. Biggins shares the honor with Allison Yodis from Eleanor Rush Intermediate School in Cinnaminson.

More than 4,000 fourth-graders submitted an original picture to the substance abuse prevention contest, which carried the theme, "Fun Things to do Instead of Doing Drugs."

"These young students from around the state are setting tremendous examples for their peers to follow," said Angelo Valente, executive director of the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey. "With their creative artwork, they are delivering strong messages to other students about enjoying a healthy, drug-free lives.

Biggins' and Yodis' winning artwork will be featured on each side of the folders distributed to next year's fourth-grade students throughout the state.
