The Hunterdon Medical Center hosted a town hall Thursday at which local experts on the opioid addiction crisis discussed the epidemic’s impact on Hunterdon County and proposed solutions for ending the cycle of use and abuse.

The Knock Out Opioid Abuse Town Hall, sponsored by the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey and The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, and co-sponsored by Hunterdon Healthcare, featured six experts: Dr. Nimish Mehta of the Hunterdon Medical Center; Public Health Analyst Nava Bastola of the NY/NJ High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program; Co-Director and CEO of Prevention Resources Lesley Gabel; Supervisor of the Hunterdon Opioid Overdose Recovery Program Greg Rearick; Superintendent of Hunterdon Central Regional High School Jeffrey Moore; and Advocacy Coordinator of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Heather Ogden.
